The Spanish Korean Cultural Center announced on the 5th that it will hold a total of four performances of Gu Jaha's play 'Haribo Kimchi' at the Calderon Theater in Valladolid, Spain, and the Conde Duque Contemporary Culture Center in Madrid until the 9th.
Gu Jaha gained significant attention both domestically and internationally with the 'Hamartia Trilogy,' which includes 'Rolling and Rolling,' 'Kuku,' and 'History of Korea.'
'Haribo Kimchi' is the first work of a new story and was released last year.
Gu Jaha graduated from the Korea National University of Arts School of Drama and completed a master's degree in contemporary theater directing at the Amsterdam University of the Arts in the Netherlands. She is currently active based in the Netherlands and Belgium. In 2017, she received the Young Artfund Amsterdam (YAA) Foundation Art Award in the theater and music category.
Shin Jaewang, director of the Spanish Korean Cultural Center, stated, "This performance of Haribo Kimchi will be a great opportunity to introduce contemporary Korean theater locally," adding, "We will continue to create opportunities for various genres of Korean works to meet the Spanish public in the future."
