First Order of the Year Demonstrates Competitiveness in the Public Sector

Taeyoung Construction will take on 60% of the shares, working together with Sambo General Construction (20%) and Daehwa Construction (20%) for the construction. The consortium, including Haean Architecture and AA Archi Group responsible for the design, will proceed with the project.

The Cheongju Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium will be developed as a cultural and assembly facility with a site area of 42,495㎡ in Seokso-dong, Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju City. It will have 1 basement floor and 3 above-ground floors, with a total seating capacity of 6,000. The construction cost is approximately 76.6 billion KRW.

The gymnasium will be built as an international standard facility for gymnastics events at the 2027 Summer World University Games, held from August 1 to 12, 2027. Construction is scheduled to begin in June, aiming for completion by July 2027.

After the games, the indoor gymnasium will continue to be used for domestic and international sports events as well as a public sports facility. It is expected to strengthen the local cultural and sports infrastructure as a complex cultural space capable of hosting large concerts and cultural events in Cheongju.

Taeyoung Construction was selected as the preferred negotiator for the 'Seobusang Medical Center New Construction Project' in August last year and completed the large-scale business complex 'Magok One Grove' (Magok CP4) in September. This recent order demonstrates its competitiveness in the public sector.

A Taeyoung Construction official stated, "The Cheongju Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium will be constructed to guarantee the best competition environment for athletes while providing the highest convenience for spectators," adding, "We will do our best to ensure it becomes a representative sports and cultural facility for the region even after the games."
