Four startups participating in the 2024 Early Startup Package project, organized by the Startup Support Group of Seoul National University of Science and Technology and wishing to enter the Vietnamese market, took part in the program held on February 21. With the assistance of local Vietnamese business support organizations such as the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (KOCHAM), National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), and BSSC (Ho Chi Minh City Startup Support Center), the program provided opportunities for market analysis and preliminary education for entry into Vietnam, meetings with local partner companies (buyers), IR and feedback sessions targeting local accelerators and investors, and technical and business evaluations.
The Startup Support Group of Seoul National University of Science and Technology encouraged active participation of startups through preparatory activities such as preliminary education and company matching for entering the Vietnamese market. As a result, they achieved outcomes including signing five Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and discussing more than three business contracts. Furthermore, through this program, companies were able to confirm their potential for global expansion and establish a business network foundation for local settlement and stable business growth.
Jung Kyung-hee, Deputy Director of the Startup Support Group at Seoul National University of Science and Technology, said, “We hope this opportunity strengthened the global expansion capabilities of startups and helped form business networks that will be beneficial for future market entry,” adding, “We will continue to strive to provide many opportunities in the future.”
In addition to the Early Startup Package project, the Startup Support Group of Seoul National University of Science and Technology has been selected as the lead organization for projects such as ▲ Maker Space establishment and operation ▲ Preliminary Startup Package ▲ Global Collaboration Program. Through these, they have established a full-cycle startup support system that discovers, nurtures, and invests in (preliminary) startups across various fields including manufacturing, knowledge services, cloud, and AI. Based on these efforts, they were evaluated as the best institution for both the 2023 Preliminary Startup Package and Early Startup Package, and have been selected as the lead organization for both projects in 2025 and 2026, planning to continue steady startup support going forward.
