Taiwanese actor Wang Dalu (Wang Dailu·33) was arrested on charges of draft evasion and subsequently arrested on charges of attempted murder.

According to local media including Liberty Times on the 4th, Wang Dalu was arrested on charges of attempted murder and is currently under investigation by authorities.

Wang Dalu is accused of ordering an acquaintance to assault an Uber driver at a Taiwan airport in April last year because he was dissatisfied with the driver.

He argued with the driver, complaining not only about the vehicle called but also about the driving. The car called at the time was a Tesla.

The argument continued even after arriving at the destination. Wang Dalu left his belongings in the car and, not knowing how to open the door, protested by knocking hard on the window, and they exchanged insults and clashed.

Later, Wang Dalu ordered a second-generation chaebol acquaintance to assault the driver and the person in charge of dispatching the taxi. The driver was reportedly assaulted by a group on April 25 last year and was injured severely enough to be hospitalized.

This incident came to light during the police investigation into Wang Dalu's draft evasion charges. The police found evidence of him ordering the assault and videos of the driver being attacked on Wang Dalu's mobile phone.

Previously, Wang Dalu was arrested on charges of obtaining a false medical certificate claiming a heart condition to evade military service. He was later released on bail of 150,000 Taiwan dollars (approximately 6.5 million KRW). Taiwanese men are subject to mandatory military service from age 18 to 36. The mandatory service period is one year, and Wang Dalu was scheduled to enlist on the 13th.

Wang Dalu gained great popularity in the Chinese-speaking world by starring in films such as "Our Times" (2015) and "Playful Kiss." "Our Times" also drew attention domestically when it was released in 2016.
