Busan National University Holds 2025 Freshman Entrance Ceremony

Entrance Ceremony and Orientation Held at Kyungam Gymnasium on the 4th
A Total of 7,685 New Students Enroll

Pusan National University (President Choi Jae-won) held the '2025 Academic Year Freshman Entrance Ceremony' on the afternoon of the 4th at the Kyungam Gymnasium on campus to welcome new students and provide an orientation to help them adapt to university life.

The entrance ceremony was attended by the president of Pusan National University, key officials, and freshmen, along with parents, current students, and faculty and staff who also joined in the celebration. This year, Pusan National University welcomed a total of 7,685 new students, including 5,251 undergraduate students, 1,978 master's students, and 456 doctoral students.

The event consisted of two parts: Part 1 was the entrance ceremony (including academic report, declaration of admission approval, oath by the representative freshman, speech by the president, and screening of congratulatory videos), and Part 2 was the orientation (providing guidance on university life, introduction of freshman athletes, recreation activities, congratulatory performance by the Lotte Giants cheerleading squad, and a raffle). The program was designed to help freshmen nurture their dreams and grow in a new environment with excitement.

At the entrance ceremony, President Choi Jae-won said, “From now on, infinite possibilities and opportunities for challenges lie ahead of you. Pusan National University will do its best to support you so that you can realize your dreams, plan your future, and change the world.”

He continued, “In the information society and the era of artificial intelligence, the place where you are right now can become the center of the world, and you yourself can become the center of the world. All of this depends on ‘your capabilities.’ Through learning and experiences at Pusan National University, I hope you grow into global leaders who move toward the world, and we will guide you to become so.”

He also urged, “Each and every one of you freshmen is the future of Pusan National University and the hope of the Republic of Korea. Wherever and whenever, I hope you become outstanding talents who are aware of your historical mission and challenge life with an indomitable spirit. I hope you become the driving force that changes Korea and the world.”
