Yeoul Kindergarten, Daejeo Jungang Elementary, and Garak Middle School
Prioritizing the Creation of a Safe and Pleasant Educational Environment
Busan Northern Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Beom-gyu) announced on the 5th that the first schools have opened in Eco Delta City, Gangseo-gu, Busan.
The newly opened schools are Yeoul Kindergarten (17 classes, 244 students), Daejeo Jungang Elementary School (43 classes, 368 students), and Garak Middle School (31 classes, 115 students), all located in the central part of Eco Delta City. The number of students is expected to increase from April due to the occupancy of nearby apartment complexes.
To ensure a smooth opening, the Northern Office of Education formed the ‘New School Opening Task Force’ led by the superintendent in August last year, providing comprehensive support in areas such as curriculum, meals, and contracts.
In particular, the Northern Office of Education held multiple consultations with related organizations including the Korea Water Resources Corporation, Gangseo District Office, and Gangseo Police Station to create a safe educational environment amid the construction of nearby apartment complexes. Through this, they completed the maintenance of school routes by designating child protection zones, installing traffic safety facilities, designating boarding and alighting spots for school vehicles, and restricting construction vehicle access on school routes.
Superintendent Kim Beom-gyu said, “As the first schools in Eco Delta City, the expectations of local residents are high. We will continuously monitor and support so that students can attend school in a safe and comfortable educational environment.”
