This project, being promoted through a consignment agreement with Yongin Urban Corporation as part of the urban regeneration efforts in the area, involves investing 19.7 billion KRW to build a complex community center with a total floor area of 2,741㎡ and four above-ground floors at 40-19 Singal-dong.
The facility will include a multi-use shared space for residents, a multicultural family exchange area and childcare sharing space, a youth space, and the Yongin City Commercial Revitalization Center to expand living SOC around Singal Intersection.
The winning design was highly evaluated for arranging spaces that can attract foot traffic and activate street spaces as a regional hub platform within the urban regeneration project zone, as well as planning outdoor spaces connected to nearby parks.
With this competition win, Seed Architecture has earned the right to undertake the design service, starting the design work in March and aiming to complete it by July 2026. The city plans to complete the shared platform by July 2028.
A city official stated, "The shared platform will provide an open space for local residents and can lead the revival of Singal Intersection," adding, "We will strive to ensure the shared platform is established as planned."
