Focus HNS announced on the 5th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with AI research company 2Digit to build a platform utilizing Vision Language Model (VLM) technology.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to collaborate in the VLM technology field and aim to dominate the AI closed-circuit television (CCTV) market. Moving beyond traditional surveillance systems that detect intrusion through motion or object detection, they will use VLM for deep image analysis to convert various metadata into a database (DB).
VLM is an AI technology that analyzes images or videos to provide information. When combined with CCTV, it offers a smart solution that recognizes and analyzes situations in real time, going beyond simple video recording. As a multi-modal AI technology capable of processing multiple types of data simultaneously, the company aims to build its platform across various fields such as security, smart cities, store management, and industrial automation.
A company representative stated, "By adding AI to simple CCTV security services, we will expand into areas such as abnormal behavior detection, smart industrial management, and user behavior analysis," and added, "We will continue to establish diverse partnerships with domestic and international companies possessing technological capabilities to strengthen our competitiveness."
Founded in 2018, 2Digit is a specialized company in VLM and large language models (LLM) utilizing AI. Last year, it ranked first in the global open-source LLM competition 'Open LLM Leaderboard' and the 'Open Ko LLM Leaderboard,' operated with support from the National Information Society Agency (NIA) of Korea.
