Gyeonggi Suwon City expanded the automatic recording feature for administrative phone calls, which was piloted in the civil welfare department since December last year to protect employees, to all departments starting from the 4th.
Previously, recordings were made manually when a civil petitioner used abusive language or insults, but following the revision of the Civil Petition Handling Act, it is now possible to automatically record the entire call after the connection.
When a call comes to any department in Suwon City, a voice notification stating "The call will be automatically recorded" is played before connecting the call, and the call is recorded automatically.
A Suwon City official stated, "To protect employees and ensure accurate consultations, we record calls and aim to create an administrative service culture where public officials and civil petitioners show mutual consideration."
