Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced on the 5th that it will operate the diet program "Fat Down" at the Samgaksan Health Center's Health Exercise Support Room for residents who are determined to lose weight.
This program aims to prevent and manage chronic diseases caused by lack of physical activity and targets Gangbuk-gu residents aged 20 to 50 with a body fat percentage of 30% or higher for men and 35% or higher for women.
Participants set a goal to lose 3kg of weight or reduce body fat percentage by 3% over three months and take part in a customized exercise program led by professional instructors, including strength training, aerobic exercise, and stretching. Health status is also checked monthly through body composition measurements and group counseling.
Participants who achieve their goals can receive continuous management linked to Friday self-help meetings, and exercise correction or counseling is provided as needed. An open chat room is also operated to share exercise methods and encourage self-exercise.
"Fat Down" sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:20 AM, 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:00 PM for one hour each. Residents who wish to participate in the program can inquire at the Samgaksan Health Center. However, there may be a waiting period after application.
Meanwhile, the district conducts body composition tests and health exercise consultations for residents aged 20 and over and also supports metabolic syndrome testing in connection. Residents who wish to undergo tests and consultations can contact the Samgaksan Health Center to make a reservation.
Mayor Lee Soon-hee said, "We hope many residents will participate in this program where they can set and achieve their individual health goals," adding, "We will continue to provide ongoing support so that residents can enjoy a healthy life."
