Personnel and Organizational Strengthening to Enhance
the Capabilities of the Disaster Safety Department
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 5th that it conducted the '2025 Disaster Management Evaluation Interview with the Head of the Institution.'
This interview was part of the disaster management evaluation promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety targeting cities and counties nationwide. An on-site evaluation team composed of external experts visited the county office and conducted the interview with County Governor Lee Seunghwa, as well as the deputy governor, director of economic construction, head of safety general affairs, and disaster officers.
The interview covered the overall status of disaster management, including the vision and implementation plans for disaster management, personnel, organizational strengthening, and incentives to enhance the capabilities of the disaster safety department.
Governor Lee said, "We will actively promote the reinforcement and capacity building of disaster specialists," adding, "We will focus on protecting the precious lives and property of residents through disaster prevention and proactive response."
Meanwhile, the 2025 disaster management evaluation comprehensively analyzes the previous year's performance of disaster management responsible institutions through a total of 36 evaluation indicators covering disaster management prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery, in accordance with the 'Framework Act on the Management of Disasters and Safety.'
