Recruiting 30 Teams of Nowon-gu Residents Who Joined the Smart Nowon Fit App from March 4 to March 28
Expanding Resident Participation with Various Walking Trails Reflecting Local Characteristics, Such as Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail and Danghyeoncheon Walkway
Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it is recruiting 'Nowon Walking Clubs' linked with 'Smart Nowon Fit' until the 28th.
Walking is an aerobic exercise that anyone can safely engage in without special equipment or cost. It is known to provide many health benefits, including improved blood circulation, prevention of cardiovascular diseases, stress relief, muscle strengthening, and reduction of body fat.
Accordingly, the district has decided to recruit and operate 'walking clubs' with the policy of supporting the healthy lives of residents through the nationwide trend of daily walking practice that has been popular for several years. Mileage points will also be supported in connection with the integrated lifestyle sports platform app 'Smart Nowon Fit,' which started in the second half of last year.
The recruitment period is until March 28, 2025, targeting 30 teams of Nowon-gu residents who have joined the Smart Nowon Fit app. Each team must consist of at least five members, and members should have roles such as president, vice president, secretary, and members.
Applications can be submitted online or by visit. Online applications can be submitted through a Naver form, and visit applications can be received at the Sports and Urban Department on the 6th floor of Nowon-gu Office.
Teams selected as walking clubs will carry out walking activities for each club independently through Naver Band and submit activity records. Upon registration as a club, a special mileage of 1,000 points will be awarded, and at the end of the year, excellent clubs will be rewarded with up to 5,000 points based on activity evaluations. Additionally, some outstanding members will have the opportunity to be recommended as candidates for exemplary citizen awards.
Nowon-gu is expanding resident participation walking activities such as operating walking clubs and healing walking programs for seniors by creating various walking trails that utilize local characteristics, including Bulamsan, Suraksan walking trails, and Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail.
Since last year, the district has built and operated the 'Smart Nowon Fit' walking mileage app, recording residents' walking activities and providing various sports programs, facility information, and walking challenge courses.
In particular, various events linked with local events such as ▲Moonlight Walk and ▲Dancing Nowon are also operated to support residents in naturally practicing walking in their daily lives.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, “Walking is the best health management method that anyone can easily practice, and its effect is greater when walking together. I hope that walking clubs will be a good opportunity for residents to add not only health but also vitality to their lives.”
