Gyeonggi Province is recruiting members for the 'Gender Violence Citizen Prevention Group.'
The Gyeonggi Province Gender Violence Integrated Response Team announced on the 5th that it is accepting applications for the 'Gender Violence Citizen Prevention Group' until the 17th. The Integrated Response Team was established last year as the first organization nationwide by Gyeonggi Province to respond to gender violence.
The Citizen Prevention Group, which has been operating since last year, is a project where citizens participate together to create a safety net against gender violence. Over the past year, through monitoring social networking service (SNS) posts and reporting activities, the group successfully removed 2,074 suspicious digital sex crime posts.
This year, recruitment is open for two fields: the 'Citizen Response Monitoring Team' and the 'Gender Violence Prevention Supporters.' The Monitoring Team will consist of 30 Gyeonggi residents aged 20 and over, who will conduct monitoring and reporting activities regarding online and local blind spots, as well as regional promotional activities. The Gender Violence Prevention Supporters, composed of 50 Gyeonggi youth aged 11 to 24, will engage in content creation and awareness improvement campaigns.
The activity period for the Citizen Prevention Group is from April to November. Gyeonggi Province will issue appointment letters and activity certificates to selected members after screening, and provide various support such as activity allowances and awards for outstanding performance.
