Gyeonggi-do Provides Up to 400,000 KRW Support for Students Enrolling in Alternative Education Institutions and High Schools in Other Cities and Provinces

Gyeonggi Province will provide up to 400,000 KRW for group uniform purchase costs to students of alternative education institutions and middle and high school students residing in the province but enrolled in middle and high schools in other cities or provinces.


On the 5th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will carry out the project together with 31 cities and counties in the province to ensure that students not included in the free school uniform support project can receive the same support.


The support targets are first-year middle and high school students enrolled in alternative education institutions with resident registration in Gyeonggi Province as of the enrollment or transfer date, and first-year middle and high school students enrolled in schools located in other cities or provinces.

As long as the group uniform is specified in the school regulations, 400,000 KRW will be reimbursed regardless of the type of uniform, including school uniforms, daily uniforms, or sportswear.


Students and parents who wish to apply can submit the necessary documents, such as group uniform purchase receipts and enrollment certificates, by visiting the Gyeonggi Civil Service 24 website (gg24.gg.go.kr), city or county offices, or administrative welfare centers from the 10th of this month until December 5.


Hong Seong-deok, Director of Lifelong Education at Gyeonggi Province, said, "We are supporting group uniform purchase costs to reduce the economic burden on families and to ensure that all residents have equal educational opportunities." He added, "We will continue to strive to realize universal educational welfare without blind spots."
