High-Quality Medical Services for Seongnam Citizens
Professor Lee Chuntaek from Bundang Seoul National University Hospital Begins Monday Morning Outpatient Care
Seongnam City Medical Center announced on the 4th that Professor Lee Chuntaek of the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital will begin outpatient services every Monday morning starting from the 10th.
This marks the first case of a doctor currently working at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital providing medical services at Seongnam City Medical Center since the agreement. It follows the medical cooperation agreement (MOU) signed on December 23 last year among Seongnam City, Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, and Seongnam City Medical Center.
Professor Lee Chuntaek’s medical services are expected to offer significant medical assistance to Seongnam citizens regarding respiratory diseases and are evaluated as an important first step in providing high-quality medical services to Seongnam citizens, as promised by Seongnam City Medical Center.
Professor Lee graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine and completed his master's and doctoral courses at the same graduate school. Since 1998, he has been serving as a professor in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital. With extensive research and clinical experience in respiratory diseases such as lung cancer, pneumonia, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Professor Lee received the Academic Award from the Korean Lung Cancer Society in 2020.
Han Hoseong, Director of the Medical Center, stated, “Starting with this medical service, we plan to attract more specialists in cooperation with Bundang Seoul National University Hospital to ensure that Seongnam citizens can continuously receive high-quality medical services,” hinting that additional doctors will begin providing care soon.
Seongnam City Medical Center is continuously striving to improve medical quality to enhance medical accessibility for local residents and provide better medical services.
First, since February 5, the center has been recruiting doctors, including those in emergency medicine, to address the previously insufficient medical staff, and has been making continuous efforts to dispatch doctors from Bundang Seoul National University Hospital following the agreement.
Director Han Hoseong emphasized, “Seongnam City Medical Center is focusing on expanding medical services and improving quality so that Seongnam citizens can use medical services more smoothly. To this end, we plan to invite specialists from various fields. Although there are current medical crises and several difficulties that may take time, we will definitely keep the promises made regarding the development of the medical center for the citizens.”
Seongnam City Medical Center also revealed a vision to strengthen the regional medical system and contribute to the development of public health care by expanding the agreement with Bundang Seoul National University Hospital beyond simple doctor dispatch to include the introduction of advanced medical technologies, academic exchanges, and exchanges of nursing and administrative personnel.
Seongnam City Medical Center plans to focus all its capabilities on strengthening basic medical services, including treatment of severe patients and preventive health care, and fulfilling its role as a public medical institution to ensure no blind spots in healthcare for Seongnam citizens, thereby earning trust as “a hospital of the citizens, for the citizens.”
