Kwangman Kim, a preliminary candidate for the Asan mayoral by-election from the Liberty Unification Party, is declaring his candidacy at the city hall briefing room on the 10th of last month.
Kim Kwangman, a preliminary candidate from the Liberty Unification Party running in the Asan mayoral by-election in South Chungcheong Province scheduled for the 2nd of next month, urged on the 4th, "Preliminary candidates should clarify any suspicions."
In a statement released that day, Kim argued, "Other preliminary candidates are remaining silent, which is only fueling citizens' suspicions."
He further emphasized, "A lot of time and money is being wasted due to this by-election, which is being held because of violations of election law," adding, "To prevent the same situation from happening again, all suspicions regarding the preliminary candidates must be resolved and thoroughly verified."
He continued, "Jeon Mankwon, the preliminary candidate from the People Power Party, should clarify the allegations of plagiarism in his thesis, and if there are any suspicions surrounding other candidates, they should also provide explanations immediately."
Previously, during his candidacy press conference held at the city hall briefing room on the 10th of last month, Kim also demanded that both Jeon and Oh Sehyun, the preliminary candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, "resolve any suspicions if there are any."
