Sharing the Development of Eco-Friendly Energy Industries in Jeonnam

The Energy Valley Enterprise Development Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Institute) announced on the 4th that it recently held a seminar on fostering new eco-friendly energy convergence businesses in Goheung, Jeonnam, together with the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services, the Offshore Wind Power Equipment Association, and others.
The seminar was attended by lawmaker Moon Geumju, Goheung County Governor Gong Youngmin, local government officials, and representatives from energy public enterprises such as KEPCO Energy New Technology Research Institute and KEPCO KPS.
Dr. Jung Chae-hwan from Korea Institute of Industrial Technology and Professor Lee Jongchan from Gachon University gave keynote presentations on eco-friendly energy, distributed power sources, and ways to utilize eco-friendly energy to improve the profitability of regional industries. They proposed directions for the development of new industries utilizing eco-friendly energy in Jeonnam.
In the subsequent panel discussion, Professor Lee Jongchan from Gachon University, Director Cho Yunseop from Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services, and Team Leader Lim Jongmo from Goheung County participated, engaging in various discussions on topics such as the current status and implications of digitalization in Jeonnam’s agriculture, fisheries, and livestock industries, as well as strategies and competitiveness for fostering eco-friendly energy in Goheung County. In particular, several measures were suggested to utilize Goheung County’s abundant eco-friendly energy resources.
Lim Cheongwon, President of the Energy Valley Enterprise Development Institute, said, "Through this seminar, we have identified policy support measures and institutional improvements for fostering future new industries," and added, "We will actively support the establishment of comprehensive strategies for sustainable development to enhance regional competitiveness and the realization of RE100 and carbon neutrality through the convergence of new eco-friendly energy industries."
