Cheonan City Provides Psychological Support for Victims of Highway Overpass Collapse

The Seobuk District Public Health Center in Cheonan, Chungnam, announced on the 4th that it will provide disaster psychological recovery services for citizens suffering from psychological trauma due to the recent highway overpass collapse.


In cooperation with the Chungcheong Trauma Center, the health center will dispatch mental health professionals to the Dorim-ri area of Ipjang-myeon from today until the 7th to assess the condition of residents and offer psychological stabilization programs.


The health center plans to continue monitoring residents until they regain emotional stability and return to their daily routines.


Lee Hyunki, head of the health center, said, "We will provide customized mental health services to minimize the psychological impact on citizens caused by the overpass collapse and help them quickly return to their daily lives."


Meanwhile, the collapse occurred on the morning of the 25th of last month at the border of Ipjang-myeon in Cheonan and Seoun-myeon in Anseong, Gyeonggi, where 10 workers fell or were buried, resulting in 4 deaths and 6 people sustaining serious or minor injuries.
