Seo Heewon's inheritance passed to husband Gu Junyeop and two children
Custody of children with ex-husband Wang Sobi becomes a focal issue
Gu Junyeop says, "I will give the precious inheritance to my mother-in-law"

It has been reported that the inheritance of Taiwanese actress Seo Heewon (48, Xu Xiyuan), who passed away last month due to pneumonia complications, has been passed on to her husband Gu Junyeop and their two children. On the 3rd, Taiwanese media ET Today reported, "Seo Heewon's inheritance was inherited by her husband Gu Junyeop and their two children according to the law," adding, "The minor children of Seo Heewon will have their biological father Wang Sobi (Wang Xiaofei) handle financial matters until they turn 18."

The size of Seo Heewon's inheritance is estimated to be 600 million yuan (approximately 120 billion KRW). According to the law, the inheritance will be divided equally, with Gu Junyeop and the two children each receiving one-third. However, on the 6th of last month, Gu Junyeop stated on social media (SNS), "I would like to speak about the precious inheritance that Heewon left behind," and added, "All of that inheritance was painstakingly gathered by Heewon during her lifetime to protect the family she loved, so I intend to give all authority regarding it to my mother-in-law."

Previously, there was some controversy regarding the direction of Seo Heewon's inheritance. Along with the inheritance procedures, issues of custody and parental rights with her ex-husband Wang Sobi became a focal point. Seemingly aware of this, Gu Junyeop's mother-in-law, Hwang Chunmae (Wang Chunmei), said on SNS, "I do not believe that justice cannot be restored," and asked for support as she prepared to "go to the battlefield." However, in an interview on the 28th of last month, she said, "I am old and no longer have the energy to fight over such matters. As long as (Wang Sobi) takes good care of the children, that is enough," adding, "He can take whatever he wants. All I want is my daughter. Please don't make me cry every time I open my eyes."

Seo Heewon debuted in 1994 as part of the group 'SOS' alongside Seo Heeje. In 2001, she starred as the female lead 'Sanchai' in the Taiwanese version of 'Boys Over Flowers,' titled 'Meteor Garden' seasons 1 and 2 (2001?2002). She later appeared in dramas such as 'A Chinese Ghost Story' (2003), 'The Legend of the Condor Heroes' (2007), and films including 'Sword Master' (2010) and 'The Great Martial Arts' (2014).

After divorcing Wang Sobi, Seo Heewon married Gu Junyeop in March 2022, attracting public attention. The two met around 1998 and dated for about a year, then reunited and married 23 years later. After registering their marriage in South Korea in February 2022, they also completed their marriage registration in Taiwan, becoming legally married.

Seo Heewon passed away on the 2nd of last month from influenza accompanied by pneumonia during a family trip to Japan. On the 6th of last month, Gu Junyeop expressed on SNS, "I am currently going through a time of indescribable sorrow and pain, as if my intestines are being torn apart. I have no strength to speak and do not want to say anything."
