Gumi City Hosts 'Dugeun Dugeun~ing' Event
Aiming to Foster Natural Encounters and Positive Marriage Culture
Gumi City in Gyeongbuk is recruiting participants for the representative meeting event for unmarried men and women, ‘Dugeun Dugeun~ing’.
Now in its 13th year, the event has had a total of 696 participants (348 couples) so far, resulting in 131 couples formed.
Among them, 23 couples have tied the knot, achieving a high matching rate of 37%.
The city stated that this event was organized to provide young people with natural opportunities to meet and to spread a positive culture regarding marriage. Applications are open from the 3rd until April 4th.
The event is designed to help participants build intimacy through various programs such as group games and round talks.
This year, the event will be held in four sessions, scheduled as follows: 1st session (April 19), 2nd session (May 17), 3rd session (August 23), and 4th session (September 20).
Eligible applicants are unmarried men and women aged 20 to 39 who reside or work in Gumi City. Those wishing to participate should submit ▲Marriage Relationship Certificate (detailed) ▲Resident Registration Certificate ▲Certificate of Employment ▲Certificate of Highest Education via email or fax.
The city plans to encourage young people to settle in the region through this event and contribute to solving the issues of declining marriage rates and low birth rates.
Kim Jang-ho, Mayor of Gumi City, said, “Starting this year, we will expand the age range of participants and increase the number of events to support more young men and women in finding their match,” adding, “We hope this event becomes an opportunity to meet a precious life partner.”
