Over 660,000 Visitors Last Year...
Hongye Park Premium Project to Be Completed in the First Half of Next Year
Chungnam Province announced on the 3rd that Hongye Park recorded a total of 660,727 visitors over the past year.
The number of visitors to Hongye Park started at 35,603 in January and reached 67,706 in November, showing a monthly increase rate of 6.2% (2,883 people).
The province analyzed that as the population of Naepo New Town surpassed 40,000, with 75% of residents being under the age of 40?including youth, teenagers, and children?Hongye Park has established itself as a leisure hub for the younger generation.
Accordingly, the province plans to accelerate the Hongye Park Premium Project, which has been underway since last year, so that more residents can enjoy leisure activities at Hongye Park, and aims to complete it in the first half of next year.
The Hongye Park Premium Project aims to enhance the characteristics of three zones?Byeolbit Jamione, Hongye Hills, and Family Park?based on the existing terrain, facilities, and usage, while introducing a cafe, creating a beautiful waterfront path, and developing a specialized theme garden.
In the Byeolbit Jamione zone, plans include installing an inner circle that allows visitors to enter the water area for waterfront activities, walkways over the water, along the shore, and even under the water. In addition, between the walkways with views of the inner circle waterfront, a hydrangea garden, a rose garden with a rose trellis and rotunda, and a wildflower garden will be created.
For the Hongye Hills zone, the plan is to create the 365 Hongye Square, which will serve as the park's central activity area, along with walking trails and the Hongye Rest Area, which offers views of Naepo New Town. The Family Park zone will feature a complex play space for the whole family, including the Suam Waterfall, Suam Stream, Water Pool Lounge, greenhouse, and Adventure Forest.
In particular, through the Resident Participation Forest Project, trees donated by residents will be planted in the park to provide shade, ensuring a more pleasant environment for leisure activities.
To efficiently implement the Hongye Park Premium Project, since the 1st of this month, access to the park has been restricted except for some areas of Jamione within the construction site, and this will continue until the project is completed. Partial openings will be allowed for unavoidable events.
So Myungsoo, Director of the Provincial Balanced Development Bureau, stated, "We will ensure that Hongye Park becomes a beloved resting place for residents," and added, "We will do our best to expedite the renovation project to provide a more convenient and pleasant environment and to host various events."
