To Be Held Twice at 7 p.m. on March 4 and 6... Sharing District Administration Direction and Gathering Residents' Opinions
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the ‘2025 Geumcheon-gu Dialogue with Residents’ on the evenings of March 4 and 6 to communicate directly with residents after work.
The event was planned to supplement the ‘Dong New Year Meeting’ held in January, which took place during weekday daytime hours, making it difficult for office workers and young people to participate. Marking the 30th anniversary of Geumcheon-gu’s establishment, the event will be an opportunity to share the district office’s operational direction and listen to residents’ opinions.
The dialogue will be held twice, divided into the Gasan-Doksan area and the Siheung area. On March 4 at 7 p.m., it will be held at the Lifelong Learning Center in Doksan, and on March 6 at 7 p.m., at the Geumcheon Career and Academic Support Center Siheung Center. Approximately 50 residents are expected to participate at each session.
The event will begin with a district administration report by Mayor Yu Seong-hoon titled ‘30 Years with Residents, Geumcheon as a City with a Bright Future.’ There will be a session where the mayor directly answers questions from attending residents to gather diverse opinions on district administration. Pre-submitted questions will also be incorporated to facilitate more in-depth discussions, and on-site Q&A will be freely available.
After the event, a survey will be conducted to more effectively reflect residents’ opinions. Submitted suggestions will be shared with relevant departments and actively reviewed to lead to practical policy improvements.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, “This event was prepared to communicate directly with various residents, including office workers and young people who could not attend the New Year Meeting,” adding, “I hope it will be a meaningful time to discuss the direction of district administration together and hear residents’ opinions vividly.”
In January, to mark the 30th anniversary of Geumcheon-gu’s establishment, the district held the ‘2025 Dong New Year Meeting,’ touring 10 neighborhoods to share administrative achievements and development plans. Mayor Yu Seong-hoon explained Geumcheon-gu’s development history and mid-to-long-term strategies, and introduced the 2025 budget and major projects.
Additionally, the mayor communicated directly with residents on-site, listening to opinions on stabilizing people’s livelihoods and revitalizing the local economy, and conducted visits to vulnerable groups and safety inspections of key areas.
