'AI Lee Kang-in' Visits Barcelona... KT Showcases Experiential Content [MWC On-site]

KT showcased an experiential customer space utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology on the 3rd (local time) at the world's largest mobile communications exhibition, 'Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025,' held in Barcelona, Spain. KT unveiled content that allows intuitive AI experiences in daily life, such as 'K-Stadium' and 'K-pop Dance Challenge,' which integrate AI into sports and K-pop fields.

The newly revealed K-Stadium is a future-type stadium envisioned by KT, implementing AI technology to create a safer and more immersive game viewing environment and enhance communication between fans and players. In particular, the AI real-time subtitle translation service for foreign fans inside the stadium, developed by KT DS, allows spectators to act as stadium announcers while AI translates in real time and displays subtitles in various languages.

Additionally, on-site visitors can meet the digital human 'Lee Kang-in,' an AI-trained version of the national soccer player sponsored by KT. When visitors enter their names at a kiosk, AI Lee Kang-in delivers a welcome message. KT plans to apply this service for the first time in domestic professional sports at Suwon KT Wiz Park, the home stadium of KT WIZ.

The 'K-pop Dance Challenge' is an experiential content combining AI and AR technology, developed in collaboration with Genie Music. Visitors receive a welcome greeting from AI-generated K-POP dancers and then select their desired song to dance together with AR dancers. By detecting visitors' movements in real time through cameras and sensors and compositing them with the AR dancers' performance, it provides a realistic feeling as if on the same stage. KT implemented this service in about 40 national languages so that visitors worldwide can experience it.

Yoon Tae-sik, Senior Vice President of KT's Brand Strategy Office, said, "AI should be an innovation in daily life that people worldwide can naturally experience and enjoy beyond just technology," adding, "KT will continue to expand various AI experience contents that allow citizens to intuitively experience AI in their daily lives even after MWC25."
