Yoo Sang-im, Minister of Science and ICT, will attend the world's largest mobile exhibition, the "Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025," held in Barcelona, Spain. During the event, he plans to meet with CEOs of major domestic telecommunications companies and work on strengthening global cooperation. This marks the first time in three years since 2022 that the Minister of Science and ICT will directly participate in MWC.

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 2nd that Minister Yoo will attend "MWC 2025," held from the 3rd to the 6th, visiting booths of major domestic and international companies to understand the latest technology trends.

MWC is the largest international event in the mobile and telecommunications sector, hosted annually by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA). This year, more than 2,000 companies worldwide are expected to participate. Notably, next-generation communication technologies integrated with artificial intelligence will be prominently showcased at this event.

On the first day of the event, the 3rd, Minister Yoo will start by visiting booths of domestic startups and small and medium-sized enterprises, followed by visits to major domestic telecommunications and mobile companies such as Samsung Mobile, SKT, KT, and LG U+, where he will meet with their CEOs.

Additionally, through a bilateral meeting with Vivek Badrinath, Secretary General of GSMA, he will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation on the commercialization of 5G+ and 6G mobile communications and discuss international cooperation agendas.

On the following day, the 4th, he will meet with CEOs of global telecommunications equipment companies such as Ericsson, Nokia, and Huawei, attend policy forums and meetings with heads of related organizations to explore ways to strengthen Korea's next-generation network competitiveness. Furthermore, he plans to hold an on-site meeting with representatives of domestic startups and small and medium-sized enterprises participating in MWC to listen to challenges faced by the network industry.

On the final day, the 5th, he will visit booths of ETRI, Solid, and Innowireless and have a communication session with domestic media reporters.
