Key AI Data Center Technologies Unveiled at MWC 2025
Joint Exhibition with Global Telco AI Alliance Members
SK Telecom announced on the 2nd that it will unveil various technologies at MWC 2025, the world's largest mobile communications exhibition, including next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) data center solutions and AI-integrated base stations.
At MWC, which opens on the 3rd (local time) in Barcelona, Spain, SK Telecom has set up a solo exhibition hall in Hall 3 of Fira Gran Via, where global IT companies such as Samsung Electronics, Microsoft, Intel, Qualcomm, and Nokia are located. At the front of the exhibition hall, they plan to showcase media art featuring AI vision on approximately a 505-inch screen made up of 18 moving LED (light-emitting diode) displays.
The interior is arranged with various AI data center solutions from SK Telecom and its partners, AI base stations and next-generation communication technologies, and spaces introducing startups such as Moloco, LabelUp, and Twelve Labs, partners of the ‘K-AI Alliance.’
One of the main themes of this year's MWC 2025 is securing profitability in the mobile communications industry. Since last year, under the ‘AI Infrastructure Super Highway’ strategy, SK Telecom has been discovering various AI data center technologies and collaborating with SK Group member companies and global partners to create business models.
This exhibition presents key components of the AI data center solution business, including technologies and services related to energy, operations, AI memory, and security. Technologies controlling the power required for AI data centers, liquid cooling technology, and graphics processing unit (GPU) resource management solutions are also showcased.
SK Telecom leads a joint exhibition with members of the ‘Global Telco AI Alliance (GTAA),’ a coalition of global telecom companies. A roundtable event will also be held for stakeholders from around the world. Through joint exhibitions with Deutsche Telekom and E& Group, they plan to reveal AI technology collaboration items promoted by GTAA.
Yoo Young-sang, CEO of SK Telecom, stated, “Through MWC 2025, we plan to secure leadership in key growth areas such as AI data centers necessary for AI innovation, AI agents, differentiated services, and network infrastructure embedded with artificial intelligence, and to expand our global allies.”
