Support for Animal Registration Fees
Register Dogs Over 2 Months Old and Pay Only 10,000 KRW

Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) is implementing a support project for animal registration fees. If you register a dog over 2 months old, the cost will be supported except for a self-payment of 10,000 KRW.

Yangpyeong-gun announced on the 2nd that it will support the cost of implantable radio frequency identification device animal registration to reduce the burden of animal registration fees.


According to the current Animal Protection Act, owners of animals subject to registration must register dogs over 2 months old kept for companionship in houses or quasi-houses with the mayor, county governor, district office chief, or special self-governing city mayor to protect the animals and prevent loss or abandonment.


The animal registration agencies participating in this animal registration support project in Yangpyeong-gun include 10 locations: Gangnam Animal Hospital (Seojong-myeon), Gaepo Animal Hospital (Yangseo-myeon), Animal Hospital Sanchaek (Yangpyeong-eup), Yangpyeong Livestock Hospital (Yangpyeong-eup), Yongmun Animal Hospital (Yongmun-myeon), Yongmun Joa Animal Hospital (Yongmun-myeon), Uram Animal Hospital (Yangpyeong-eup), Jungang Animal Hospital (Yangpyeong-eup), Chamjoeun Animal Hospital (Yangpyeong-eup), and Thomas Animal Hospital (Yangpyeong-eup).


Jeon Jin-seon, governor of Yangpyeong-gun, said, “Through the animal registration fee support project, we expect to strengthen owners’ sense of responsibility for their companion animals,” and added, “We hope many residents will participate to minimize the occurrence of abandoned animals by enabling quick identification of owners of abandoned animals.”
