Preferential Loan Interest Rates and Tax Audit Exemptions
Jeollanam-do has selected 100 individuals (75 individuals and 25 corporations) who have faithfully fulfilled their tax obligations, contributing to the establishment of a sound tax culture and local finances, in celebration of Taxpayers' Day (March 3).
Since 2013, Jeollanam-do has enacted the "Jeollanam-do Model Taxpayer Privilege and Support Ordinance" to foster a voluntary tax payment atmosphere and enhance taxpayers' pride, selecting exemplary taxpayers each year and providing them with various benefits.
Model taxpayers are selected through the Jeollanam-do Local Tax Deliberation Committee among those who, as of January 1 each year, have had no record of tax arrears in the past three years and have paid at least 20 million KRW in taxes for corporations or at least 2 million KRW for individuals.
Model taxpayers receive preferential interest rates and fee exemptions on deposits and loans at Nonghyup Bank and Gwangju Bank for one year. They are also eligible for parking fee reductions at 79 paid public parking lots in Jeollanam-do, and corporations are exempt from tax audits for three years, among other benefits.
Notably, starting this year, an additional benefit has been introduced, offering a comprehensive health checkup package worth 300,000 KRW at a 50% discounted price of 150,000 KRW through Suncheon and Gangjin Medical Centers.
Park Sungyeol, head of the Jeollanam-do Tax Administration Division, said, "We deeply appreciate all residents who faithfully fulfill their tax obligations despite the difficult economic situation."
