The committee will select topics and discuss detailed content related to the core ESG tasks that the Federation will pursue, based on expert analysis and advice on key issues facing small business owners. In particular, it is expected to play a leading role in areas such as ▲ advising and reviewing strategies and implementation plans related to ESG policies and management ▲ gathering opinions and making recommendations on major plans related to ESG policy promotion ▲ conducting ESG policy research and publishing reports.
Chairman Song Chi-young stated, "Since 2020, the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprises has faithfully served as a bridge connecting ESG activities of corporations and government agencies with small business owners through various social activities." He added, "Especially after being designated as a specified donation organization (currently a public interest corporation) in 2023, a foundation has been established to secure continuous growth momentum through collaboration with specialized related institutions, academic societies, and win-win companies."
Furthermore, Chairman Song said, "I expect that the newly established ESG and Social Contribution Committee will serve as a compass that formulates strategies for social contribution activities befitting the status and social role of the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprises and points the way forward."
