The Youth Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Foundation’) and the Korea Fair Recruitment Certification Institute (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Certification Institute’) held the ‘6th Korea Fair Recruitment Conference’ on the 27th at the 4th-floor auditorium of Hana Financial Group’s Myeongdong building. This event was organized to share the latest recruitment trends and exemplary recruitment cases by companies.

The conference was co-hosted by the Foundation and the Certification Institute, supported by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, the Career Coach Association, and NewsNJob, and attended by over 120 recruitment managers from both public and private sectors.

The event began with opening remarks by Park Juhee, Secretary General of the Foundation, and Jo Jiyong, Director of the Certification Institute, followed by presentations on ▲ ‘Recruitment Trends 2025’ and ‘Talent Recruitment Focused on Human Competencies Suitable for the AI Era,’ ▲ the finals and awards ceremony of the ‘Youth Best Team Player PT·GD Competition,’ and ▲ sharing of recruitment culture desired by youth and exemplary recruitment cases by companies based on recruitment experience surveys.

In the first session, hosted by the Certification Institute, the Korea Career Coach Association, and Deloitte Consulting, presentations on ‘Recruitment Trends 2025’ and ‘Talent Recruitment Focused on Human Competencies Suitable for the AI Era’ were delivered.

According to a survey conducted by the Certification Institute from November 26 to December 1, 2024, targeting 409 experts holding Level 2 or higher qualifications as professional interviewers, the top recruitment trend for 2025 was selected as organizational culture fit (Culture Fit).

‘Organizational culture fit’ is a recruitment method that evaluates how well a candidate’s disposition harmonizes with the company culture, and it was ranked first in recruitment trends for the second consecutive year. Following this were ▲ job-centered recruitment, ▲ strengthening interviewer competencies, ▲ career-based rolling recruitment, and ▲ polarization of the recruitment market.

Jo Jiyong, Director of the Certification Institute and a presenter, stated, “In the context of AI adoption and workforce reduction trends, companies are focusing on finding the right people who not only have competencies but also fit well with the organization,” adding, “We hope the exemplary recruitment cases shared at this conference will help companies review and improve their recruitment processes.”

Next, the finals and awards ceremony of the ‘Youth Best Team Player PT·GD Competition,’ aimed at strengthening youth employment competencies, took place.

This competition provides young job seekers with an opportunity to be evaluated on their teamwork, logical thinking, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities as suitable team players through PT (personal presentation) and GD (group discussion) interviews, and to grow through expert feedback. The six youth finalists were judged in front of an audience of about 120 recruitment managers.

As a result, youth participant Kim Min won the grand prize, followed by excellence awards to Shim Hyunhee and Kim Minhyeong, and encouragement awards to Lee Hyejung, Kim Youngwoon, and Kim Hyunbin. They were awarded certificates, bouquets, and scholarships as prizes.

Finally, exemplary recruitment cases from the public sector, private sector, and universities were presented.

Shim Seunghyun, Manager at the Korea Housing Finance Corporation, presented on ‘Public Institution Recruitment Cases Seen Through Empathetic Recruitment,’ and Professor Shim Hyoyoung of Induk University shared a ‘Competency Analysis-Based Employment Coaching Case.’ Following this, Kwon Hyukgi, Senior Administrator at the National Science and Technology Human Resources Development Institute, presented on ‘Building Employment Branding Through End-to-End Recruitment Management,’ and Choi Woorim, Manager at Kia, explained ‘Kia’s Diversified Recruitment Cases.’

Park Juhee, Secretary General of the Youth Foundation, stated, “We hope this conference provided an opportunity for recruitment managers to gain insights by sharing recruitment cases from various institutions.” She added, “The Foundation will continue to strive to deliver the latest recruitment trends and the voices of youth through various channels such as webzines, YouTube, and Instagram.”

Meanwhile, the Foundation promotes direct and indirect job experience for youth and provides opportunities to explore organizational culture through programs such as ‘Online Job Mentoring by Youth Professionals’ and ‘Support for Work Experience for Vulnerable Youth.’
