According to Gwangsan-gu on the 28th, the district signed an agreement with the Gwangju branch of Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) in December last year and is currently promoting the 'Meeting Square' development project. The goal is to complete the project within this year, and a nationwide survey will be conducted from the early stages to incorporate citizens' opinions.

The survey will run until March 10. It is open not only to Gwangju citizens but also to users of Gwangju Songjeong Station and visitors from other regions. The survey asks for opinions on the image of the square, suitable themes, and preferred facilities.

There are two ways to participate: online and offline. The online survey can be accessed via the Gwangsan-gu website, official social media channels, and QR codes on promotional materials inside Gwangju Songjeong Station. The offline survey will be conducted in the waiting room within the station. The collected opinions will be reflected in the installation of sculptures, expansion of convenience facilities, and activation measures linked to the local commercial district.

Park Byungkyu, the head of the district office, said, "We will actively reflect the voices of citizens and users so that Gwangju Songjeong Station can become the representative gateway of the Honam region."

Meanwhile, Meeting Square will be developed on a scale of about 3,600 square meters, and design planning and detailed design began earlier this month.
