- Providing Practical Experience through the Future Tomorrow Work Experience Project (ESG Support Type)
- Boosting Young People's Confidence in Employment
Amid the ongoing youth employment crisis, Lotte Rental (CEO Choi Jin-hwan)'s vehicle management subsidiary, Lotte Auto Care (CEO Lee Kyu-pil), is expanding its ESG activities to strengthen young people's practical skills and fulfill its social responsibilities.
Lotte Auto Care successfully operated the 2024 Future Tomorrow Work Experience Project (ESG Support Type), providing young people with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in automobile maintenance sites.
This program focused not on simple theoretical education but on enhancing job adaptability and strengthening practical employment capabilities through on-site training.
Professor Choi Sung-sik of Daelim University analyzed that this program is evaluated as an exemplary case of ESG management that goes beyond mere educational support to inspire young people's employment motivation.
The Future Tomorrow Work Experience Project (ESG Support Type) operated by Lotte Auto Care was conducted with a total of 25 young participants during July and August 2024 (1st term) and November 2024 to February 2025 (2nd term).
In particular, participants showed high satisfaction as they not only acquired technical skills but also learned actual automobile巡回 maintenance procedures and developed practical senses through mentoring with field experts.
The first-term participants recorded 100% "very satisfied" in all education categories, and the second term also received high evaluations in the program (100%), curriculum (93%), and operating hours (100%).
One young participant said, "Applying what I had only learned theoretically directly gave me confidence in maintenance skills," adding, "Especially, the feedback process with the responsible mechanic greatly helped enhance the practical learning effect."
Another participant evaluated, "Through hands-on practice, I realized that automobile maintenance is not just about acquiring skills but involves problem-solving and accuracy," and "My vague interest in maintenance turned into certainty, providing an opportunity to concretely plan my future career."
After the program ended, many participants were actively considering employment in automobile maintenance and related fields. Accordingly, Lotte Auto Care continues to provide mentoring and employment counseling to help participants connect with jobs.
Lotte Auto Care emphasizes the role of companies practicing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management through this program.
Recently, large corporations have been strengthening ESG strategies by expanding practical job creation and employment support programs beyond simple donations or one-time support to fulfill social responsibilities.
A Lotte Auto Care official stated, "In the situation where youth unemployment is worsening, providing job experience opportunities and practically supporting employment is one of the important roles of ESG management," adding, "Since this program is designed not just as education but for participants to directly experience jobs and effectively prepare for employment, we plan to continuously expand it."
Industry experts said, "Corporate ESG activities are expanding beyond simple environmental protection to creating social value," and analyzed, "Employment support programs targeting young people, like Lotte Auto Care's case, will also be linked to corporate sustainability."
Experts emphasize that solving youth employment issues is not merely a labor market challenge but a crucial factor for securing sustainability across companies and society.
A work experience official explained, "Lack of practical experience is one of the biggest obstacles to youth employment not only in the automobile industry but also in various industrial sectors," adding, "Providing practical job experience opportunities at the ESG management level by large corporations can lead to sustainable employment policies."
Lotte Auto Care's case demonstrates that ESG management goes beyond simple social responsibility by providing young people with practical employment opportunities and contributing to sustainable corporate growth.
Going forward, Lotte Auto Care plans to continuously expand support so that young people can gain more diverse job experiences and enhance their employment competitiveness.
