Hollywood veteran actor Gene Hackman, who performed for over 40 years since the 1960s, was found dead at his home on the 26th (local time) along with his wife.
According to foreign media including Reuters, Hackman (95) and his wife, pianist Betsy Arakawa (63), were found dead at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. At the scene, the couple's pet dog was also found dead.
Local police stated that there were no signs of assault or external intrusion.
Hackman was an actor loved by both the public and critics for his distinctive male characters in over 80 Hollywood films spanning genres such as action, crime, thriller, historical, and comedy.
He was widely recognized for his acting skills, winning the Oscar for Best Actor for the 1971 film "The French Connection" and the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for the 1992 film "Unforgiven."
His major works include the "Superman" series, "No Way Out," "Enemy of the State," and "The Royal Tenenbaums."
