Plans to Attend a Performance on the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong Early Next Month
Han Dong-hoon, former leader of the People Power Party, will begin public activities next month by consecutively attending a performance and a book concert.
According to a representative of Han, he plans to watch a performance about the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong at a theater in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 2nd of next month, the 27th.
During his time as the emergency committee chairman, Han introduced a project to produce a fairy tale book honoring the late Sergeant Han Sang-guk, who died in the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong. Han Sang-guk's wife, Kim Hanna, served as the chairperson of Han's support group during the July 23 party convention and is also known to be attending the performance with him.
On the 5th of the same month, he will hold a book concert for his book "The People Come First" in Donggyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
Han's side is reportedly planning to travel nationwide starting with this book concert to meet with party members and supporters.
In an interview with a media outlet to be released on the 28th, he is expected to reveal specific positions on future political visions and current issues such as constitutional amendments.
After two months of lying low following his resignation from the leadership position, Han resumed his political activities on the 26th with the publication of his book. The general interpretation in political circles is that this move is in anticipation of an early presidential election that would be held if the impeachment trial of President Yoon Seok-yeol is accepted.
