Continuous Visits to Community-Oriented Project Sites
On-Site Administration That Citizens Can Experience
On the 27th, Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, visited the completed barefoot walking trail at Gamgye 2nd Neighborhood Park in Buk-myeon to check the results of the community-oriented project and spend time communicating with nearby citizens.
The barefoot walking trail in Gamgye 2nd Neighborhood Park in Buk-myeon was created by fully reflecting citizens' opinions as part of the community-oriented project. It met various demands by improving the existing barefoot path, adding a new barefoot path (250m), and installing foot washing stations and convenience facilities to enhance user convenience.
At the site, Mayor Hong communicated with citizens using the trail to check if there were any inconveniences. He also instructed the responsible department to improve the surrounding environment by removing protruding stones from the floor for safety and requested regular facility inspections in preparation for increased users during the spring season.
A citizen present at the site said, “It is great to enjoy the barefoot walking, which is gaining popularity these days, on the loess path near my home, and it is convenient to have a foot washing station as well.”
Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, “Through barefoot walking, we will invigorate citizens' daily lives and expand balanced facilities by district so that barefoot walking can be enjoyed anywhere in the city center. We will continue to do our best to promote community-oriented projects for small but certain changes that blend into citizens' lives.”
Meanwhile, Changwon Special City plans to accelerate the creation of results with more systematic support by fully activating the community-oriented project TF team to strengthen the driving force of community-oriented projects. In addition, to allow citizens to practically feel the changing administration, the city plans to conduct various monthly field visits to communicate with citizens.
