Mayor Oh Se-hoon to Deliver Keynote Speech on 'KOGA'
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon will hold a discussion forum with the business community, including the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to explore economic growth solutions through 'regulatory reform,' which he has emphasized since the first day of this year.
On the 27th, Seoul City announced that it will hold a forum on 'Enterprise-Centered Growth-Oriented Regulatory Reform' at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Conference Hall on the morning of March 4.
This forum was organized to hear various voices from the field regarding regulatory reform that supports corporate growth and to discover new growth engines that can serve as a breakthrough in the national crisis, amid domestic political uncertainty and the restructuring of the global trade order with the launch of Trump’s second term.
Starting with a welcome speech by Park Il-jun, Executive Vice Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and congratulatory remarks by Choi Ho-jung, Chairperson of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, Mayor Oh will deliver a keynote speech under the theme 'KOGA (Korea Growth Again).' In his speech, Mayor Oh is expected to present bold industrial policies such as ▲investment in advanced industry R&D and fostering creative industries ▲active fiscal investment in infrastructure and talent development ▲activation of the asset market as measures to maintain South Korea’s nominal growth rate at 5%.
In the first part, a panel discussion on enterprise-centered growth-oriented regulatory reform will be chaired by Yoo Il-ho, Chairman of the Regulatory Reform Committee, with Mayor Oh, former Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Yoon Sang-jik, former Financial Services Commission Chairman Jeon Kwang-woo, Koo Tae-eon, member of the Digital Platform Government Committee, and Han Sang-woo, Chairperson of the Korea Startup Forum, participating as panelists.
The second part, themed 'Deregulation in New Growth Sectors,' will feature presentations by Jang Jun-young, Head of the AI Center at Law Firm Sejong; Park In-sook, Director of the Korea Regulatory Science Center; Lee Geun-joo, Chairperson of the Korea Fintech Industry Association; and Kim Jin-oh, Chairperson of the Korea Robot Industry Association, each discussing AI, bio, fintech, and robotics respectively. Afterwards, Yang Jun-seok, Chairperson of the Korea Regulatory Society, will chair a comprehensive discussion on 'The Role of the Government and Seoul City in Deregulation.'
Meanwhile, a booth will be operated at the forum venue to receive regulatory grievances.
