IPA to Offer Two Plots in Aam Logistics Complex 2 E-commerce Specialized Zone
Applications Open for Companies Seeking to Move into Incheon Port's E-commerce Hub
IPA Aims to Attract Leading E-commerce Firms to the Last Available Plots
Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced on the 27th that it will invite companies to move into the e-commerce specialized zone to develop Incheon Port into a global e-commerce hub and a high value-added logistics environment.
The target sites for the invitation are two plots within the e-commerce specialized zone of Incheon Port Aam Logistics Complex 2, with a total area of 111,000㎡. IPA plans to receive preliminary consultation applications from companies wishing to move in by April 11, and then proceed with an additional public offering process to provide fair opportunities to third parties.
Aam Logistics Complex 2 was designated as the first e-commerce specialized zone among national ports in August 2020, with a total area of 256,000㎡. Previously, four other plots (145,000㎡) within the specialized zone were selected for logistics companies including CJ Logistics, and they signed land lease contracts or business promotion agreements with IPA.
Incheon Port is recognized as a port specialized in e-commerce, equipped with various infrastructures such as the Korea-China ferry route and the Incheon Customs maritime express logistics center. The e-commerce cargo volume at Incheon Port recorded 25,640 tons last year (a 29.6% increase from the previous year), maintaining the top position among national ports for 11 consecutive years.
Kim Sang-gi, IPA Executive Vice President of Operations, said, "We expect that the e-commerce specialized zone at Incheon Port will be fully operational from the second half of this year, completing the nation's top specialized complex," and added, "We will strive to attract excellent e-commerce specialized companies to the last two plots as well."
