On the 27th, Hyundai Steel's Dangjin Steelworks continued its Gonggam education donation activities by delivering a Happy Kiwoom 'Gonggam' education donation at the Dangjin Office of Education's main conference room.
The Happy Kiwoom 'Gonggam' education program is a social contribution initiative designed to create a safe educational environment for local youth through safety education, thereby supporting their healthy growth by enabling them to focus on school life.
At the donation ceremony, attended by representatives from the Dangjin Office of Education, Dangjin City Welfare Foundation, and Hyundai Steel, a donation of 20 million KRW was delivered to the Dangjin City Welfare Foundation.
Since the agreement began in 2023, Hyundai Steel has donated a total of 60 million KRW to this event, including this year. The funds are used for purchasing educational equipment, operating experience booths, and snack trucks.
The education program themes include improving welfare awareness, preventing school violence, preventing smoking, and respecting life. Each theme is accompanied by an experience booth, allowing students to participate freely and easily in a supportive environment.
The 'Gonggam' program, first implemented in 2023 at five schools including Dangjin Information High School, has gradually expanded to more schools due to the enthusiastic response from participating students. This year, 11 schools in the area have been selected to participate.
The program will be flexibly operated in consultation with the selected schools for seven months, starting with Songsan Middle School on April 11 and continuing through November.
A Hyundai Steel representative stated, "Since 2023, we have been enhancing the Gonggam education program each year," and added, "We hope that participation in these diverse programs will help students grow up healthy."
Meanwhile, up to this year, a total of 25 schools and 4,700 students have participated in the 'Gonggam' education program, contributing to the character development and cultivation of local youth in Dangjin.
