Horseback Riding Experience Classes to Be Held from March to November

Jeju Autonomous Police Mounted Unit Offers Horseback Riding Experience for Children and People with Disabilities Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Autonomous Police Unit Horse Police Squadron is conducting an equestrian experience program for children and people with disabilities. Provided by Jeju Autonomous Police.

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Autonomous Police Agency (Chief Park Kinam) announced on the 27th that its Mounted Police Unit will operate a horseback riding experience program for children and people with disabilities from March to November.


The "Children's On-Site Horseback Riding Class" consists of ▲time to interact with horses (feeding, petting, brushing, etc.) ▲Hallama horseback riding experience (balancing, a five-minute riding session), and more. To ensure the safety of the children, equipment such as helmets is provided, and each child is assisted by two to three mounted police officers.


The program is offered to daycare centers and kindergartens (ages 4 to 6) in the province on the first and third Thursday of each month. Applications can be submitted on a first-come, first-served basis (30 participants per session) through the Autonomous Police Agency's website from February 24 to November 14.


The "Horseback Riding Experience Class for People with Disabilities" aims to help improve independence and rehabilitation motivation through emotional bonding with horses and physical activity. It is conducted every Tuesday and Thursday for facilities for people with disabilities, such as Jeju Yeongsong School and Woori Welfare Center.


Lee Seungcheol, Head of the Mounted Police Unit, said, "We will continue to expand opportunities for communication and empathy for the socially disadvantaged."


Meanwhile, the horseback riding experience for children and people with disabilities was held 30 times last year, with 604 children and people with disabilities participating, receiving great support from parents and teachers.
