No. 1 in Overseas Check Card Market Share for 25 Consecutive Months
Hanacard announced on the 27th that the overseas travel fees saved by customers using the Travelog service have exceeded 200 billion KRW.
Since its launch on July 18, 2022, until the 17th of this month, the saved foreign exchange fees through free currency exchange (100% preferential exchange rate) amounted to 115.1 billion KRW, the amount saved by waiving overseas usage fees exceeded 57.2 billion KRW, and the money saved by waiving overseas ATM withdrawal fees surpassed 31.2 billion KRW.
According to the Credit Finance Association, Hanacard accounted for 45.4% of the overseas check card market share among the seven major full-service card companies last month. The annual market share rose from 19.2% in 2021, 25.4% in 2022, 38.4% in 2023, to 47% last year.
Sung Youngsoo, CEO of Hanacard, said, "Travelog broke the conventional notion that fees must be charged and established a fee-free overseas travel service as the standard in the travel card market," adding, "We will provide differentiated benefits and services in line with the trend of valuing rational consumption and experiences."
