The Korea Public Golf Course Association and the Korean Society of Turfgrass Science have joined hands.
They announced on the 27th that they jointly held a seminar on ‘Resource Recovery and Recycling Measures for Golf Course Turfgrass Clippings.’ Over 50 participants attended, including academics, golf course executives and staff, the Korea Forest Service, local government (Jangseong-gun), and turfgrass experts. The seminar proceeded with three presentations on the current status of turfgrass clippings at domestic golf courses and ways to improve disposal methods, followed by a comprehensive discussion.
Chairman Lim Ki-ju stated, "Golf courses are striving to create environmentally friendly golf courses," adding, "Through this seminar, I hope that laws and regulations will be improved to allow voluntary recycling, such as defining turfgrass clippings as organic resources for composting, similar to overseas cases."
