Gyeonggi Province is launching full-scale support for technological independence in core industrial sectors such as next-generation semiconductors and advanced mobility materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang).

The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency announced on the 27th that it will implement the "2025 SoBuJang Leading Company Development Support Project," allocating a total budget of 1.7 billion KRW this year to provide commercialization funds of up to 75 million KRW to around 22 companies.

The support targets are manufacturing SMEs headquartered in the province for more than three years as of the announcement date, with at least 50% of their sales in the SoBuJang sector, and must have a corporate-affiliated research institute. Additionally, they must meet at least one of the following conditions: two or more research personnel, R&D expenditure ratio of 2% or more, or venture investment of 50 million KRW or more.
