Outstanding Design Recognized Across Various Products
Samsung Electronics won 58 awards at an international design competition in Germany. The company was recognized for outstanding design across products such as TVs, home appliances, and smartphones, as well as AI-based user experience (UX).
On the 27th, Samsung Electronics announced that it received a total of 58 awards, including two Gold Awards, at the German international design competition 'iF Design Award 2025.'
Started in 1953 and hosted by the International Forum in Germany, the 'iF Design Award' selects winners based on distinctiveness and impact across nine categories: ▲Product ▲Packaging ▲User Experience and Interface (UI) ▲Concept ▲Communication ▲Service Design, among others.
Samsung Electronics won Gold Awards for the home AI companion robot 'Bolly' and the packaging design 'Bojagi' for a small portable projector.
Including these, Samsung received awards in 36 products, 8 UX·UI, 9 concept, 4 communication, and 1 service design categories, totaling 58 awards.
The Gold Award-winning Bolly is a 'home AI companion' robot that learns the user's lifestyle patterns based on AI to perform various functions such as schedule management and home appliance control. It is a mobile robot projector equipped with two projectors for the first time in the world, supporting both close-range and long-distance projection freely, and is scheduled to be released domestically in the first half of this year.
Bolly’s design features a small, rounded shape with yellow color and a soft texture to convey a friendly feeling, shaped to make eye contact and greet the user.
Another Gold Award winner, Bojagi, is a preliminary concept package for a small portable projector, inspired by the traditional Korean wrapping cloth called Bojagi. It uses leftover fabric to create a special design. Notably, it is designed to sustainably package and reuse products of various shapes without being constrained by form.

Samsung was also recognized for outstanding design in various services and UX·UI. These include the 'Foldable Galaxy AI UX,' which supports real-time communication between people speaking different languages using dual screens; the 'Bespoke Refrigerator UX,' which maximizes smart kitchen experience by recognizing ingredients placed in or taken out of the refrigerator with an internal camera and automatically updating the food list; and the 'Newfound Equilibrium' exhibition showcased at the 2024 Milan Design Week.
Notae Moon, President of Samsung Electronics Design Management Center, said, "Samsung Electronics strives to impress customers through innovative usability and design based on AI," adding, "We will provide designs that harmonize with changing customer lifestyles and contribute to our society."
