Over 165,000 Lights Installed at Arena Plaza
Delivering a Message of Hope and Harmony Ahead of Spring
Lotte Property & Development announced on the 27th that it will hold the luminaria event "BLOOM Again" at the Lotte World Tower Arena Plaza from the 28th of this month until the 16th of next month.
Luminaria is an Italian word meaning "light" or "illumination," referring to a light festival that creates or decorates architectural structures using lighting. The theme of this event is "BLOOM Again," conveying a message of hope, healing, and new beginnings, symbolizing the spring when everything blooms anew.
At the Lotte World Tower Arena Plaza, a luminaria sculpture measuring 20 meters in diameter and 12 meters in height will be installed. It consists of 13 walls connected to form a circular dome shape, symbolizing harmony through a circular corridor structure.
The design incorporates a fractal structure found in nature, such as pine trees symbolizing resilience, flowers and sprouts blooming anew in spring. A fractal is a structure where parts resemble the whole and repeat continuously, visualizing the natural processes of growth and circulation in various ways, embodying the meaning of hope.
The number of decorated lights reaches approximately 165,000, and the lighting hours are from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Visitors can enter inside the luminaria sculpture or view it from the Lotte World Tower and Mall, creating different photo zones depending on the viewing angle and location, offering diverse enjoyment. Additionally, music that complements the warm and hopeful atmosphere of the luminaria will be played, presenting a feast of light and sound together.
Meanwhile, this luminaria event was prepared through collaboration between Lotte Property & Development and the Lotte Holdings Design Strategy Center. The Lotte Holdings Design Strategy Center conceptualized the overall design and concept, while Lotte Property & Development was responsible for the sculpture's production, installation, and operation.
Lee Mi-hyun, head of the marketing team at Lotte Property & Development, said, "We planned this luminaria to deliver a message of hope at the end of winter," adding, "We hope everyone enjoys the beautiful spectacle of light at Lotte World Tower."
