Selected as the Best Local Government for Three Consecutive Years, 2022?2024
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, was honored with the award for the Best Water Management Institution of 2025 at the Water Management Symposium held in Jeju on the 26th, following its selection as the Best Local Government for General Water Supply Projects in 2024.
This award recognizes Hamyang-gun's achievements in actively promoting the establishment of a small organism response system at water purification plants and expanding local water supply facilities. The Best Water Management Local Government was selected through a joint initiative by organizations including the Ministry of Environment, the National Assembly Water Forum, Korea Water Resources Corporation, and Korea Environment Corporation.
The Hamyang-gun Water and Sewage Business Office is continuously striving to provide tap water services to residents in underdeveloped water supply areas by expanding local water supply facilities in rural regions.
Moreover, the water purification plant was selected as the best local government for three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024 in the evaluation of general water supply project operation management. Following its selection as an excellent institution in the public sewage operation sector in 2024, it has been recognized as the best water management institution by organizations jointly hosted by the Ministry of Environment, the National Assembly Water Forum, and Environment Times, solidifying its reputation as the top water management institution.
Kim Hak-yang, head of the Water and Sewage Business Office, said, “This achievement was made possible thanks to the efforts of the Water and Sewage Business Office staff dedicated to water supply administration.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to supply clean and safe water stably and to make Hamyang-gun the best general water supply operator nationwide.”
