Rus: "Ukraine's Largest Drone Attack of the Year... 128 Drones Shot Down"

Amid Ukraine's largest drone (UAV) attack this year, Russian forces reportedly shot down 128 drones, TASS news agency cited the Russian Ministry of Defense on the 26th (local time).


According to the report, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that air defense forces shot down 128 Ukrainian drones over Russian airspace on that day. Specifically, 83 drones were downed in the Krasnodar region, 30 in the Crimea region, 8 in the Sea of Azov, 5 in the Black Sea, and one each in the Bryansk and Kursk regions.


As a result of the attack, drone debris struck a gas pipeline near the Verkhnevakhansky settlement close to Novorossiysk, causing a fire, and nearby houses were also reported to have been damaged.

The Russian Ministry of Defense considers this attack the largest scale since the 24th of last month this year. Previously, on the 24th of last month, a total of 121 Ukrainian drones were shot down.


Regarding this attack, the Russian side claimed, "Another large-scale Ukrainian drone attack on Russian civilian facilities is an attempt by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to hinder the peaceful resolution (ceasefire negotiations) of the conflict.
