On the 26th, Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok inspected the Namyangju Smart City Integrated Center and the Northern Taxi Shelter construction site as part of the February policy field tour.
This policy field tour was organized to check the operation status of the Smart City Integrated Center, which provides various information to improve citizens' transportation convenience, and to review the construction site of the Northern Taxi Shelter, a transportation pledge project of the 8th local government administration.
Mayor Joo first visited the Smart City Integrated Center located in Byeollae-dong to review the status of key projects such as △establishment of an intelligent transportation system △signal improvement using smart intersections △incident and accident response through linked surveillance CCTV footage △review of new construction plans in preparation for Wangsuk New Town.
In particular, it was found that the establishment of the intelligent transportation system resulted in an approximately 19% increase in average travel speed and about a 30% reduction in average waiting length at intersections.
Additionally, the operation of priority signals for emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks has shortened emergency vehicle travel time by 50% and increased travel speed by 50%, contributing to securing the golden time.

Next, Mayor Joo visited the Namyangju Northern Taxi Shelter (Yangji-ri, Onam-eup), which is under construction with a total of 2 buildings and a total floor area of 340.85㎡.
Mayor Joo inspected facilities within the shelter such as △multipurpose rest area △fitness room △meeting room together with the construction managers and urged them to do their best until completion to provide high-quality taxi services to citizens.
Mayor Joo said, "This year's policy field tours will diversify targets and methods to strengthen communication administration," adding, "We will continue to make our best efforts to create a safe and happy Namyangju through direct communication administration on-site."
Meanwhile, the city has been conducting "policy field tours" since last year to prevent potential problems that may arise during project implementation and to enhance the completeness of projects through on-site inspections related to major projects.
