"We Must Jointly Resolve the Politics of Yoon and Lee"

Lee Nak-yeon, Standing Advisor of the New Future Democratic Party, expressed concern over Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, becoming president, saying, "If the trials are halted (because Lee Jae-myung becomes president), the people who have been punished for even small mistakes will be made fools of."

On the 26th, Lee appeared on MBN's YouTube program 'I am a Politician' and said, "The spirit of the times needed now is the joint resolution of President Yoon Seok-youl and Lee Jae-myung's politics," adding, "Being able to say this is the value of the New Future Democratic Party."

He said, "People I meet on the streets or at bars generally say, 'President Yoon Seok-youl is frustrating now, and going with Lee Jae-myung feels suffocating even for the future,'" and directed criticism at President Yoon, saying, "Since his inauguration, he has done many strange things that go against common sense, and ultimately even declared martial law, falling into the abyss of destruction. Such irrational and anachronistic politics must be resolved."

Regarding Lee Jae-myung, he pointed out, "If someone who has not resolved judicial risks tries to become president, it will spread from a personal risk to a national risk," and added, "If a person facing multiple trials gains power and the trials are stopped, the people who have been punished for small mistakes will be made fools. This is the collapse of the rule of law."

He said judicial risks are not only a problem for the Democratic Party. "Aren't there people in the People Power Party at the presidential candidate level who currently have judicial risks?" he said, adding, "Those involved in the Myeong Taekyun scandal should be dealt with quickly. If the People Power Party wants to criticize Lee Jae-myung, their own hands should be clean."

Regarding Park Ji-won, a Democratic Party lawmaker, who strongly criticized the New Future Democratic Party's call for joint resolution as "crazy talk," Lee responded, "He is someone who openly claims that Lee Jae-myung is more excellent than former President Kim Dae-jung, whom he served," and said, "We should ask the people whose mind is healthier: those who say such things or those who talk about joint resolution."

On the possibility of running in an early presidential election, he said, "I am seriously thinking about what would be beneficial to the country."

Jeon Byung-heon, leader of the New Future Democratic Party, also visited the tomb of former Prime Minister Kim Jong-pil and the burial site of General Yi Sun-sin in Asan, Chungnam, on the same day, reiterating, "We must resolve both President Yoon Seok-youl and Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, and gather forces ranging from centrist progressives to conservatives to create a new government."
