Cube Entertainment (hereinafter Cube Ent.) announced on the 26th that its provisional consolidated sales for last year reached 218.3 billion KRW, marking a 53.4% increase compared to the previous year. The provisional operating profit was 16.6 billion KRW, up 7.4% year-on-year.
Cube Ent. stated, "Not only did the sales related to our existing entertainment business increase due to the active activities and growing global popularity of our main artist (G)I-DLE, which expanded the fandom, but especially the cosmetics distribution sales and operating profit through our subsidiaries increased by approximately 100% and 200%, respectively, achieving the highest performance since the company's founding. Last year, (G)I-DLE released their 2nd full album and 7th mini album, achieving combined first-week sales of over 2.5 million copies, doubling album sales compared to the previous year. Reflecting their popularity, advertising revenue also increased by about 40%. Additionally, the Japanese subsidiary expanded cosmetics distribution from offline stores to online channels, significantly boosting performance," they said.
The representative added, "The global audition held for the first time since the company's establishment in September last year was successfully completed earlier this year, gradually expanding the pool of new talent. This is expected to lead to an expansion of the IP lineup, which will also be reflected in the company's increased value. Furthermore, with the recent continuous positive signals in Korea-China cultural exchange, and considering that our main IP, (G)I-DLE, is highly popular in China, we also anticipate a flexible entry into the Chinese market," they added.
