Daegu City Launches 'Integrated Parking Information System'... Parking Information for 1,653 Public Parking Lots

Plan to Expand to Private Parking Lots

Daegu City has established an 'Integrated Parking Information System' that allows users to view parking information such as fees and parking space sizes at a glance for 1,653 public parking lots managed by the city, counties, and districts, including nearby parking lots, free parking lots, and parking zones. The system will be officially implemented starting March 1.

At 74 public parking lots, including Gukchaebosang Movement Memorial Park and Daegu City Hall Plaza, a service providing real-time information on the actual number of available parking spaces is also offered.

In the future, the real-time parking information service will be expanded to include public parking lots not currently covered and private parking lots that wish to participate.

Daegu City has built the 'Integrated Parking Information System' to manage parking information for public and private parking lots, which were previously managed separately by institutions such as the city and districts/counties, enabling the provision of useful parking information services to citizens.

The main features of the service include providing basic information such as location, number of parking spaces, operating hours, and fees for all public parking lots in Daegu city, real-time parking availability information, and contactless payment services (mobile payment) such as parking season tickets and QR pre-payment.

Additionally, a destination-centered parking lot search and navigation-linked service have been implemented. This service is based on a responsive web platform, providing optimized screens for various devices such as PCs, tablets, and smartphones.

Data collected through Daegu City's parking information service will be released as an open API that can be utilized by private parking platforms, which is expected to expand service usage channels for citizens and help expand business areas for private operators.

Daegu City plans to enhance citizen satisfaction through stable operation of this system and continuous functional improvements, and to develop it into a smart parking system incorporating advanced technologies such as AI in the future.

Hong Jun-pyo, Mayor of Daegu City, said, “I hope citizens can use parking facilities more conveniently through the Integrated Parking Information System,” and added, “Based on the collected data, we will establish efficient parking policies and take the lead in improving urban parking issues.”
