SMAC Surpasses 200 Billion KRW in Sales Last Year... "3 Consecutive Years of Growth"

On the 26th, Smack disclosed that its consolidated sales for the previous year reached 201.3 billion KRW, marking a 13.97% increase compared to the previous year. Net profit surged by 32.67% to 22.1 billion KRW, clearly demonstrating improved profitability. Operating profit also rose by 8.71% to 24 billion KRW, maintaining a steady growth trend.

The key factor behind this performance increase was the tangible results of the global market expansion strategy. A Smack official stated, “In order to overcome the global economic slowdown and sluggish industry conditions, we actively strengthened our overseas market penetration, which led to substantial results,” adding, “Considering these achievements were made despite difficult market conditions, we expect to continue this growth trend this year as well.”

Last year, Smack aggressively pursued global market expansion and technology development, achieving its best-ever performance. In the first half of the year, sales and operating profit significantly increased due to the rise in overseas exports of semiconductor and automotive equipment. In the second half, exports steadily expanded, especially in the European market, sustaining a solid growth momentum.

Additionally, to strengthen AI-based intelligent manufacturing technology, Smack opened a research and development (R&D) center in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province. Collaborating with the Czech Technical University and the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, it promoted the digital transformation of manufacturing for aerospace and power generator turbine parts. To expand the global market, additional funds were invested in subsidiaries in the United States and Europe to conduct aggressive marketing. A memorandum of understanding was signed for the acquisition of Hyundai Wia’s machine tool division, laying the foundation for business expansion.

At the end of the year, new executive appointments were made to reinforce the global growth strategy and focus on securing continuous competitiveness in the machine tool and automation business. Youngseop Choi, CEO of Smack, said, “This year, we will continue to grow by expanding the global market and developing core technologies,” adding, “In particular, we will advance automation solutions and intelligent manufacturing technologies to lead innovation in the future manufacturing industry.”
